DeleteI'd like to do a graffiti inspired applique wall-hanging. The graffiti idea I have in mind is a bit fiddly, so the no-fray applique method sounds like an interesting option
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known about this method! I'm in the middle of a baby quilt with applique - ready to start the applique today! What I'd like to next make - I'd love to try some fussy cutting of flowers on some of my fabrics and make something from that, probably a cushion.

DeleteI would love to make the camper scene.
DeleteI have tried needleturn appliqué and loved it. It sounds like fun to do this without the edges fraying.

ReplyDeleteI've got plenty appliqué ideas on my mind, the one that I'm thinking about most at the moment is a little landscape with a house with plenty of flowers around the windows, the porch, the yard...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for writing about my book here on the Modern Quilter's Ireland blog Ruth! You took the Crafted Applique technique and made an awesome Lego Darth Vader quilt, just as if you had been doing it for years! I hope whoever wins your book has as much fun with it as you did! I'm really looking forward to your turn in the hop tomorrow!
ReplyDeletePS - it was super incredibly nice that you ordered a book from the AQS just for this giveaway!
DeleteWow...I didn't realize this was the technique you used for Darth Vader. I don't know what applique I would try -- have been avoiding applique. But I'd like to try Lara's method.
ReplyDeleteLove the camping trailer would love to put it on a wall.... happyness04431@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteAm currently appli-fusing some poppies on a quilt and am intrigued about Lara's method.
ReplyDeleteI find applique a bit scary. I have tried needle turning and raw edge, I need more practice. This book looks like fun!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to any raw edge applique project as I have always finished the edges with a zig zag stitch.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make that camper on a mug rug for my dad !! can't wait to learn Lara's technique - thanks for the giveaway ! daisyandjack@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteArt Nouveau definitely or Celtic style when I master this method!
